The Six Centuries Club of America, Inc.

Publishing History

One of the last independent presses in America - operating for 20+ years without Federal, state, or local government grant funding, and without university affiliation - Sensations Magazine is a rare three-consecutive-year winner in the national American Literary Magazine Awards (1994-1996).  All of its issues have achieved "sold out" status without bookstore returns or "remaindering."  A quick summary of our publication history:

  • Since December 1987, Sensations Magazine has published 46 issues and two thematic supplements.  The Six Centuries Club has published Sensations Magazine since Issue 41, Spring/Summer 2007.
  • Snake Hill Press, the book division (1994-2006), has released six poetry collections penned by Publisher David Messineo.   Snake Hill Press is not active at the present time.
  • The Six Centuries Club published three color programs between September 2007 and June 2008, featuring microfilm research of local history which formed "The Lafayette Township Heritage Research Series."
  • The Six Centuries Club also published a Silver Anniversary Issue Alternative Motifs, a literary magazine of Fordham University that was the predecessor to Sensations Magazine

The chronological history of these magazines, thematic supplements, programs, books, and other printed items is represented through the front covers of these items, which will be presented below at a later date.
